Value Project Presentations is an innovative presentation series that empowers students with the knowledge and soft-skills needed to value themselves and others, to positively impact their communities, and to develop resiliency so that they navigate and proactively engage life’s challenges and opportunities successfully.
Five things that make our presentations unique:
1. We customize every presentation delivery to the needs of your school
Before we deliver any presentation, we connect with your teachers and counsellors to learn about the needs of your school. Our presenters also schedule two pre-talk connection points with your students, using things like food, activities, and conversation to build rapport and understanding. Why do we do this pre-work? Because it leads to considerably higher learning outcomes and more engaging content.
2. Our experiential learning model makes the content stick
We know that the medium is the message, especially for young people, so we’ve decided to shake things up a bit and break the mold on the traditional-lecture style model. Whether it means placing our stage in the middle of the gym or our presenters giving students permission to hit them with hundreds of paper airplanes, our presentations are anything but boring.
3. We use strengths-based communication to inspire hope and compassion
Language is everything when we tell stories, especially our own. Our content and delivery use language that inspires hope, compassion, and positive perception of self and others. Our presenters encourage students to see personal challenges in their lives as places of inner strength and opportunities for growth. In doing so, we empower them to believe in their own agency and potential.
4. Our presentations take an upstream approach to today’s issues
Our presentations go to the source behind many of today’s value crises: that young people don’t know and believe in the true value of themselves or others. We believe that if we can help them see this truth, problems like cyberbullying, abortion, and substance addiction will begin to take care of themselves. We also show students how to live this out by teaching them soft-skills such as positive communication, empathy, and healthy boundaries in sharing.
5. Our content checks off your boxes for the new B.C. Curriculum requirements
The job of a teacher is incredibly impactful, but it’s also very demanding. That’s where we come in. We help school faculty achieve the province’s new curriculum requirements. Our presentations are especially well-positioned to address the Personal and Social Core Competencies, as well as the Big Ideas, Curricular Competencies, and Content for Health and Physical Education and Career/ Career-Life Education.
